Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRIEDRICH HIRSCHFELD April 15, 1927 December 7, 2009 It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Friedrich Hirschfeld. Dad was born in Ettingerfeld, Russia. During the Second World War he fled from Russia to Germany. He moved to Paraguay for seven years. He then met, married Luise Wall and started a family. The next journey he took was with his wife and four children to Canada in December, 1956. Two additional children were added in the next few years. Friedrich worked in a variety of jobs before settling into his plumbing career. Fred was retired for 20 years and enjoyed many happy days fishing and relaxing with his family at Victoria Beach. Fred is survived by his wife Luise of 62 years, sons Fred (Hedy), Peter (Liz), Rudy (Shirley), Erich and daughters Helene (Gerhard), Anne (Bob), nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Friedrich was predeceased by his parents Anna and Jakob Hirschfeld and sister Gusta. Dad was a loving and kind person who was well known in the North Kildonan area and McKay Avenue for 53 years. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mennonite Central Committee and Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral service will be held at North Kildonan Mennonite Church (1131 Roch Street) on Saturday, December 12 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Our heartfelt thanks to the Riverview Health Centre on 3East for their dedication and compassionate care.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Fred's Family. I was fortunate to have worked with Fred in the plbg. trade while employed with Derksen Plbg. He taught us great organization skills and proper work ethics which have benefited me, and I'm sure others who have worked with him. He was likable, and well respected, and was never afraid to get his hands dirty. I will miss him dearly. Sadly I received the news of his passing only yesterday April 2/2020. He was "Good People". Til we meet again! Roland - Posted by: Roland Siemens (Co-worker) on: Apr 03, 2020
